Tea party at home: organizing a holiday
A tea party is an unusual form of celebration for us. For many, the question immediately arises: is this a tasting of a drink or some special ritual? ..
Let’s reassure right away: home tea parties have nothing to do with the long and strictly regulated Japanese ceremony. It’s just an alternative way to spend the holidays.
Thanks to first-class tea, high-quality desserts and appropriate table decoration, a birthday or a meeting of old friends will be remembered for a long time. Well, you will find everything you need to organize such an event in the shopping centers of the METRO chain.
Traditions and modern etiquette
The European homeland of tea drinking traditions is Great Britain. High society gathered in the house of some aristocrat and led small talk while drinking tea. This event was called Afternoon Tea.
Representatives of other classes also had their own tea parties. Such events were called High Tea. Such tea parties were not distinguished by sophistication, elegance of serving. In addition, simple food was present on the table – cheese, crackers, bread.
The modern tea party at home also has a number of traditions. In particular:
- The planned event is warned in advance so that guests can adjust their plans.
- Personalized invitations are sent to the participants of the tea party held at home. The best option is if they are written by hand. You can attach a tea bag to the card – this will immediately set the guests in the right mood.
- A tea party held at home is scheduled for the afternoon.
- This format of the event requires a minimum number of guests. Therefore, invite one to five people.
Preparing for the event
To organize a tea party at home, you don’t have to put in a lot of effort. But you will need to take care of the availability:
- good tea (naturally, there is no question of packaged options in this case), preferably several varieties;
- beautiful service with a large teapot. If you stocked up on several varieties of drink, prepare another teapot. You can use a modern glass teapot;
- tablecloths, linen napkins with beautiful patterns;
- the appropriate decor of the table, the area around it, especially if the planned event is dedicated to a specific event;
- sweets – cupcakes, muffins, muffins, butter cookies, cakes;
- snacks. Of course, sweets should prevail on the table, but after a few hours of communication, guests will want to have a bite to eat with something more serious. Therefore, make sandwiches in advance, decorate the dish with cheese and meat slices beautifully.
Have a great home tea party!
